Top Tier Design and Lots of Visual Love

As someone who normally is only into Star Wars and other pop culture themes from Lego, this set caught my eye in a really unexpected way. The visual appeal of the color combinations and the angle work really cement this as a sight to behold. There is a reason that this is the first modular I've purchased, and I definitely do not regret it. The set is just beautiful. I know a lot of people take issue with the palm tree, and that's understandable. Personally, I find that the lime green leaves, as well as the red pot, give a very nice contrast to the darker and more muted colors of the hotel itself. The minifigures are very good, the floors are all nicely decorated, and the homages and easter eggs to past sets in the line really help to make this celebratory 15th anniversary set something special. For me, this is MY Parisian Restaurant. This is the set that other modular buildings have to compete with to win over my heart.

Stretch the build time for max fun

I was really in no hurry to rush the build, just enjoyed the whole process. This build reminded me a bit of New Orleans' architecture and add in some quirkiness. This was a fresh take on the modular line. Colors are great and well coordinated. I ended up placing as a corner bldg. with the Police station on the left and Bookstore on the right. Some very new and clever techniques made it quite interesting. As someone mentioned, the wardrobe doors don't want to stay closed but a bit of tape on the back of the doors fixed that. The "bar" above the art gallery was just the right touch. The design team didn't skim on detail. There were areas they could have quit on but they made it even better. I'd highly recommend!

Perfection!

Thoroughly enjoyable build start to finish. Never repetitive or predictable, it’s become one of my top three Modular Buildings. The designer(s) did an excellent job creating a unique building shape and layout. Some past builds used tedious build techniques to achieve a particular style. This set achieved a beautiful facade without any overly complicated or annoying building techniques. I also really appreciate the color scheme chosen for this set. The flesh tone was particularly interesting. 10 out of 10!

One of the best builds

Honestly loved this set. It had some extra messages as you build it about previous modulars. Has tones of little easter eggs. Has 14 bags that sounds like a lot but it was nice not having 3 to 4 bags per number. It was a really relaxing and fun build. Would recommend to everyone considering this build!

The Taj Mahal Palace

This is a most amazing and appealing Lego set that I came across to see by chance while surfing Lego website for new ideas for my son to build something new. At the very first look of the "teaser" that I saw on Lego website for this product as "coming soon", I knew in my mind that I am going to buy this one for myself even though I knew that it would be my 5 year old son who would be building this eventually. It had a little resemblance to the The Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai, India. The dome on the top surrounded by the decorative railing'sss' added the grand look to the overall set. My son built the complete set with a little assistance on the second floor where it was a bit challenging for him to add the small white pillars besides each windows. The teeny tiny TV, the cupboard, the beds, bathroom and the windows on the third floor- learnt new ways of making such cool builds to add to any other sets to play with. We recently bought BookShop before this one but this one is the second modular set in our Lego collection. Definitely a set I would like to keep it as a collectible.
