First time purchasing the MERV

First time purchasing the MERV 13 filter, will have a better idea on efficacy in a month or 2. Have 2 dogs and 2 cats. 1800 sq ft house.

The filters are only 3/4

The filters are only 3/4 of inch. All the filters I have bought from different brands the filter was 7/8 of inch or greater. This concerns me . Since you say it's one inch and it's not. Why is this? You do have nice filters, I do want thicker filters. What is thickness of a 2-in filter?

It makes a distinct whistling

It makes a distinct whistling noise when the system is running compared to the Filtrete filter it replaced. Only had it a few days. Bummed about the whistling noise.
