Great price, needs one tweak

Every year I research multiple sites to see who has the best deals on filters. This company always comes out on top. I only wish the cardboard shell had less surface area to it. I do believe it obstructs some of the flow of my air through the filter. I end up taking a pair of scissors and utility knife to cut away some of the cardboard to increase the flow. Maybe this could be a consideration for future design changes?

Filters cause loud noise every time fans switch on.

These filters are smaller in size than equivalent sized 3M Filterete filters.As a result, they don't fit snugly into the HVAC air intake brackets in the ceiling. This causes them to drop onto the cover plate when the intake fans are off and get sucked up with a loud smack when the fans turn on.

For over 23 years, I have searched for those little 14"squares. I had to resort to those green things you cut to size, and it wasn't until my fairly new furnace blew a breaker, and the repair guy showed me the filters...the bathroom 14" was not right and let a lot of dust into the ducts. I had a crew come and clean the ducts, and they discovered the damage. Now I have the proper filter that actually catches dirt...and I learned they need to be replaced at least every 3 months. This house is dusty, and you saved me from any further problems.
