[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced an older traditional spring mattress with this one because it had developed two body sized craters. This mattress is firmer than what we had, which I like. My husband typically prefers a really soft mattress so I was surprised that he actually liked it too. It is definitely firm and supportive, but you do still sink into the memory foam a bit so it’s not like sleeping on a board. We do have it on top of a box spring as well.
I’m a side sleeper and my husband is a back sleeper and so far it has worked for both of us. I’ve woke up sore as my body adjusted, but I honestly expected that and the soreness has not lasted as the nights have gone on.
My favorite thing is that when I wake up in the middle of the night the bed doesn’t move much or make any sound. Also, I’m able to stay asleep when my husband goes to work earlier than I do.
I was curious about the cooling aspect because I’m at the age where hot flashes have begun. I can’t say I actually feel it cooling me, but I’m definitely sleeping much better and not waking up sweating.
Setup was simple, but is much easier with 2 people. It’s a heavy and substantial box. It expanded almost immediately and had no weird smell.
Overall, so far I’m impressed and enjoying it. Time will tell how well it holds up year after year, but it seems like a solid midrange option.
