We have been knee deep in a kitchen renovation. With that come LOTS of dust. We were going through HVAC filters every five days. I needed a better solutionbetter working filters. Through research I learned about the various MERV types and potential impacts to HVAC systems. That brings us to now. I purchased 6 MERV 13 air filters. I am loving these. They are a work horse. Thankfully my HVAC tells me when they need to be changed too. Upon replacing, I can visually see the hard work they have done. In time, I plan to get onto a scheduled shipment. No more worrying or forgetting to change filters. Life is easier now.
New furnace installed spring 2022; this is its first winter. Nowhere in specs or manual is the filter size given. The installers threw an undersized cheapie filter in it. Finally got correct size: 15x25x1, and chose MERV 13 (have shedding dog, a smoker, and tons of sand due to heavy winds year round in the desert, at location at end of a wind tunnel street). The explanation of different qualities on website is extremely helpful. Finally have correct size. This is a furnace-only (no A/C attached) unit. Very happy with filter.
