Haven't actually used the filters yet. But the cardboard edging comes apart. Had to tape together.

Bought a filter of a different size than manufacturer recommended.because that size was hard to find. Changed size by quarter inch and it hasn't made any difference other than fitting better. I am pleased. We use Merv 8 because our dog doesn't shed. The previous one lasted use almost 2 months. Great brand. Highly recommended

I'm giving 4 stars because I finally found a filter that fits my odd-size opening. I'll update this rating in December when I pull it out to place in another one and see what it looks like. If I'm happy I'll be ordering more.
