Check Actual Size Before Ordering

I ordered 2 16"x20"x4" filters for my furnace. When I received them, I tried replacing my filter but the new ones were too small. I compared the filter to the old one and found that it is smaller and is identified as such. The old filter had an actual width of 15-15/16" as labeled on the side of the filter. The one from Filterbuy was 15-3/8" wide and was also labeled as such. Both are considered 16x20x4 filters. But one is works and the other (the Filterbuy) doesn't.The lesson learned is that not all 16x20x4 filters are the same despite having the same nominal dimensions. Check the ACTUAL dimensions, which are also given, to make sure the specific filter will work.

Check the actual size before purchasing make sure there are no air gaps that allows dirty air by.16x30x4Actual Size: 15 3/8" x 19 3/8" x 3 3/4" Original size 15 15/16 x 19 3/4 x 3 3/8Usually theres a lip on the backside of the box that the filter gets sucked up against. This case shouldnt be more than a 1/4 smaller at all.

Poor fitting filters.

Filters were 1/2 inch less on all sides than advertised actual measurements leaving gaps around filter. This allows airflow around the filter and not through.

Dirt getting through

I have purchased 4 merv 13 filters. so far i have dirt passing through the media onto the downflow side of the filter. I could not use this longer than 30 days. I have since replaced with a columbia merv 13 and after 60 days there is no noticeable dirt on the bottom side of filter. There is an obvious quality difference and i am disappointed with filterbuy products.

Filters do not fit in my OEM Filter cabinet

Filters are undersized by a significant amount (> half inch in 2 out of 3 dimentions). Tried to return them; company ghosted me. Never again, FIlterBuy.

Filter size and build quality

My bad, I didn't take the time to look at the actual dimensions of the filter before ordering, they are too small (by about half an inch) for a standard Honeywell enclosure. I reused the paper shell from the Honeywell filter and placed the Filterbuy model inside it. Also the pleats were glued somewhat haphazardly, not uniformly. Other than that, we'll see how they work from here on.
