Up until now have been using MERV 8. With the smoke from Canada decided to upgrade to the13 and found price sizing and were all I could ask for .What at this point I do not know and my furnace supplier could or would not say is if I would have enough pressure drop to negatively affect my furnace out performance.Am hoping the four inch pleated will do the job. Have just put in and seem to have at least a happy wife.

Two concerns, the pleats were

Two concerns, the pleats were widely spread apart in the middle while others bunched together at the boarder, rendering them useless. The filter will give me 60% of its designed efficiency.

Only place I could find the 4 nominal thickness that was actually less than 4 as I needed from my air handler. Got a MERV 13 rating to help with indoor air quality for a new born and a toddler. I come back every 18 months and buy 6 more now!! Thanks for making regular maintenance easier, I actually change my dog hair clogged filters now

Filter is excellent quality EXCEPT though advertised as 4 inches wide, it states in small print on the filter that it is something less than that? Why? Makes for a sloppy fit in my furnace and lets air leak around it. Otherwise a good filter that reduces the visible dust on furniture in the house.

Merv 13 air filters

Since I discovered Merv filters a couple of years ago, that is all I will get from now on. The dust bunnies arent nearly as much filtering through the sun light in my kitchen.
