Filter is not 4 in wide, more on the order of 3.3 in. Does not fit snugly in filter housing so there is air leaking around the filter.

All of my 2-inch filters

All of my 2-inch filters were bent, some took much time to straighten out but are okay now. Their condition may have been the reason for the discount and I am okay with that. I just did not know all of them would need to be worked on. The 5-inch filters had better support and needed very little work. It was worth the savings, but I did not read anything advising me the inner Pannels would need separated so they could function properly.

Filters were sent "actual" size

Filters were sent "actual" size and NOT nominal size. I can only use filters that are closest to nominal size. These filters are too small for my vent and actually have gaps in the spacing at the vent. Obviously not good enough to "capture" all the airflow thru the filters !! ouch ! My old Filtrete filters "fit the bill" in its sizing with vent! I really can't use these filters!Thank you for allowing comments...

Haven't used it yet so I can't comment on protection and dust. It appears to be well constructed. The price is bit high but I thought I would give it try on performance. I usually replace every 60 days so I'll see itf it holds up
