Filters are undersized by a significant amount (> half inch in 2 out of 3 dimentions). Tried to return them; company ghosted me. Never again, FIlterBuy.
My first buy. Product shipped quickly, reasonable packaging, no transit issues. Attractive product price. But, what about the product? Well, the filter is physically robust enough. Firm cardboard frame with sufficient metal grid supporting the filter paper. Filter paper strikes me as thin. Enough to question the MERV rating. Although true size was disclosed, anytime the actual manufactured frame size is less than the title states there is risk to fit and therefore function. They don't fit as tightly as the 3M which had been used previously. Gives me pause. Won't know until a few months of regular operation how it performs, and for the application I'd rather pay more and get a superior filter. After all, that's the whole point or why bother. Nice touch having a preprinted section on the frame to note install date.
Should have stuck with 3M. These 20x20 filters are narrower on all sides. The filter will not stay in the 20x20 space. Instead, I have to carefully close the register door so the filter doesnt fall out. There are gaps on all sides so really unfiltered air is getting through into my HVAC. Waste of money, and I bought a 6 pack. :face_palm::skin-tone-2::male_sign:
Filters don't have the foam gaskets that they previously came with a few years back. Also, 5 inch Filters are not replaced as often as one inch Filters. There is no subscription offer that fits the replacement terms for the 5 inch Filters.
The OEM filter is a MERV 16, and although the replacement filter is a MERV 13 it seems to work well. I will buy again, but it would be nice to have the OEM spec filter available in the future.
