My HVAC installer recommended that I get the Merv 8 filters for my unit that's now three years old. But we have noticed that we constantly have a fine layer of dust even having had the vents professionally cleaned. Should we be using a higher Merv # to trap more particulates?

They were not shrunk as they usually are. My half inch and did not fit. I had to send them back to you and reorder

The filters are slightly smaller than the furnace filter space meaning they do not fit snugly and tip over.

Seems to be as good as the ones at the hardware store for a lot less money just installed one will have to wait to see how good they are
