UNIT IS A JOKE TO KEEP CLEAN
on July 9, 2026

Regular use a couple of times a week for the past couple of years - produces good baked bread and pizza dough. The unit has a fundamental design flaw in that the interior of the oven cannot be reasonably cleaned. Oven interior is galvanized steel (which corrodes) with exposed screw fasteners and a nonremovable heating element located so close to the oven sides that a thorough cleaning is virtually impossible. You win the prize if you are so unfortunate as to have dough rise to overflow the pan. I'm looking for a new machine that has addressed these considerations.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We're glad to hear that it has consistently produced good bread and pizza dough for you.
To help prevent spills and make cleanup easier, we recommend adding ingredients to the bread pan outside of the machine before placing the pan into the unit. This can help avoid accidental messes inside the baking chamber. Additionally, our recipes are developed and tested to remain within the bread pan's capacity when ingredient quantities are followed as directed, helping to prevent dough from rising and overflowing the pan.
We understand your concerns regarding cleaning the interior of the oven and appreciate your comments. Feedback like yours is valuable and helps us continue to improve our products. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Customer Service team for assistance. Email at support@zojirushi.com or call 1-800-733-6270, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM PST.
The machine is great. Very consistent with great bread. Cookbook not so great! Makes bread like a brick! Substitute milk for water, olive oil for butter and 1/2 cup less flower and bread is awesome!!
Expected an outstanding product at such a high price but the performance is just average, Almost 10 loaves were made in the last month since purchase, just one of two came out perfect, most loaves were lopsided, making half of the loaf dense.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear that your results have not met expectations. Based on your description, this type of outcome is often related to the balance of ingredients—typically too much flour (or other dry ingredients), not enough liquid, or a recipe that is too small for the breadmaker. To help improve your results, you may consider slightly reducing the flour or increasing the liquids. If you are using your own recipe, increasing the overall recipe size may also help achieve a more consistent loaf shape. For best results, we recommend weighing all ingredients, including liquids, and ensuring they are fresh. If measuring by volume, try fluffing the flour with a whisk or fork first, then gently spoon it into the measuring cup and level it off without tapping or packing. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact our customer service team at support@zojirushi.com or call 1‑800‑733‑6270, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM PST. We would be happy to assist you further.
I first purchased this bread maker for my daughter, and then bought one for myself. This is an absolutely amazing machine that does it all! I highly recommend this breadmaker!
After intentionally trying to grow mold on store bought bread for a science lesson on chemical change, I began to rethink processed food. I am new to bread baking. Notall breads have the same “kneads”. With a little research, this breadmaker is the perfect fit for my small kitchen. I am delighted with the results. If gifting breads I remove the mixing blades at the last mix. Worth taking the dough out to remove blades, replace dough in machine, and then reposition to ensure level bread. I also use the machine to make pizza dough and even artisan doughs (in my Dutch oven) to save the labor of kneading. Takes longer than doing by hand but better for diverse recipes.
