Big increase in airflow

After swapping this out for my std 1" filter I can feel a definite increase in airflow out of the vents with a higher MERV value than I had been buying due to pressure worries. Great product.

This filter has a flexible edging that majes it fit snugly into the slot - presumably directing more air through the filter and not around the edges. That's my assumption but not sure how to confirm that as a benefit.

Have an amana furnace but the filter was too big for the slot. Filter is 20x25x5 but this version didnt fit. Help!
