[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded from an older LED, and the LG C5 is truly a game-changer. This TV is the perfect sweet spot for anyone who wants flagship-level performance without paying for the absolute top-tier model.
The picture quality is stunning. The perfect blacks that OLED is famous for are here, but the addition of the Brightness Booster tech means HDR movies and sunny scenes finally pop, even in my moderately bright living room. Colors are vibrant and accurate right out of the box.
As a serious gamer, the 144Hz refresh rate, G-Sync, and FreeSync support, combined with the four HDMI 2.1 ports, make this TV unbeatable. My console and PC games run flawlessly—smooth, crisp, and with zero lag.
My only minor critique is the built-in sound; while decent for dialogue, it doesn't do justice to the stunning visuals, so a soundbar is a must for a truly cinematic experience. The new Alpha 9 Gen 8 processor keeps the WebOS interface fast and responsive, and the design is impossibly thin and sleek. If you're looking for the best all-around OLED TV of 2025 without jumping up to the G5's price tag, this is it. Highly recommend!

OLED TV with best control including darkness nits

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased LC OLED C5 77inch model. First of all, the screen is very slick. Installation was very straight forward including the wall mounting. Once setup was done, I was playing out the setting to get the best screen experience. When I started adjusting the darkness level of black pixels, I saw huge difference. I tried setting the darkness level close to 0 to truly represent black pixels. And at night, I set darkness level to 0 for black pixels and I put complete black picture on screen. It was really hard to see if TV is showing black photo or it is just turned off. It was that good experience. The whole point for me to chose OLED was to better differentiate colored pixels from black pixels... And this LG TV does amazing job. Quite happy with the purchase.

The C5 intelligently recognizes whether you're watching a show in Dolby Vision or tuning into a sporting event, automatically adjusting the display settings for optimal viewing. It also features LG Gallery mode, so when the TV is off, it displays artwork, making it look like a framed picture.

the only down side I could say is the reflection is larger than I expected. and the coating is helping, but still if we want to compare with the other type of matte screen, its still reflective. but if watching in basement or at night, no issue at all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let's just get straight to the point: the LG C5 is exactly what you expect from LG's mid-range OLED—which is to say, it’s brilliant. If you’re upgrading from an older LED or even a few-year-old OLED, you’ll notice the difference immediately. That perfect, inky black level that only OLED can deliver is as stunning as ever, but LG has clearly kept pushing the brightness. While it’s not quite the sun-gun that the high-end G5 is, the C5 is definitely bright enough to make HDR content truly pop, even in a moderately lit room.
The picture quality is simply beautiful. Colors are rich and accurate, and thanks to the new Alpha 9 Gen 8 processor, motion handling is incredibly smooth. Watching a 4K movie in Filmmaker Mode (with Dolby Vision, naturally) feels like getting a private screening. The sense of depth and contrast is just unbeatable at this price point.
Where the C5 truly shines is for gamers. With four full HDMI 2.1 ports, 144Hz VRR support, G-Sync, and an absurdly fast 0.1ms response time, this thing is future-proofed for the fastest PC and console gaming. If you own an Xbox Series X and want to take advantage of Dolby Vision Gaming, the C5 is a no-brainer. Everything is crisp, tear-free, and buttery smooth.
Now for the few gripes. Firstly, if you're getting the smaller 42-inch or 48-inch models, you lose the full Brightness Booster technology and the anti-glare screen found in the 55-inch and up versions. That's a real shame for desktop users or those with smaller, brighter rooms. Secondly, the new remote design feels like a step backward. It's slimmer, but they moved the dedicated mute button to a long press on the volume rocker, which is just annoying when you need silence right now. Finally, while the WebOS smart platform is comprehensive, the push toward more AI features and a few intrusive home screen ads is a distraction on a premium television. You can disable the ads, thankfully, but it shouldn's be a thing in the first place.
The Verdict: The LG C5 is the sweet spot in the OLED market. It delivers flagship picture quality and unmatched gaming performance. If you can stretch your budget for the 55-inch or larger size to get the full brightness boost, this is a TV that will absolutely dominate your living room entertainment for years to come.
