Rough start great result

Out of the box, my TV was buggy. Sound would stop working (even the sound test was silent), it would disconnect from ARC, apps would crash (no remote function, except to change volume, settings, go to home screen). I downloaded the firmware from the website (which did nothing at first) then did the factory reset and viola, everything fixed. Why didn't LG support ever suggest this? (they only had me ungplug the TV which only temporarily fixes these issues). Why would I need to do this out of the box? Also, the mute button being on the volume down is really dumb-to lower my volume 20% I now have to individually hit volume down 20 times because I can't hold it for 2 seconds? Also, please attach the light sensor function to individual picture modes, I want full eye searing HDR when I want it and a nice dark picture when I want it, but the light sensor limits HDR brightness by default-really dumb-it's not just for power savings. Also setting all picture modes to +20 cold and color saturation to 60 is made everything look neon and the AI settings mode used tiny blurry images. The sound AI audio clips where so compressed and muddy that through the terrible built in speakers I just got a headache. Guys, please offer a better range of picture presets so we can have a good out of the box experience. Please fix the software updates. Please fix the mute button fiasco. I was 1 day away from a return.

Great TV - Magic Remote, Not So Great

Great Picture and Sounds - The "magic" remote does NOT have numbers to channel select. Instead, you must use the optic pointer which is clumsy at best...but I have only owned the TV for 2 days....

A Well-Chosen TV with Excellent Performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using the OLED77C5PUA, the first thing that stands out is the vivid and lifelike picture quality. Thanks to OLED technology, blacks are deep and colors are rich and accurate, which makes movies, dramas, and games extremely immersive.
The TV supports a 144Hz refresh rate, and it really shows when gaming. Gameplay feels incredibly smooth with no noticeable stuttering or screen tearing, even during fast-paced scenes. It performs excellently for both console and PC gaming.
The built-in speakers deliver surprisingly solid sound quality. While an external sound system would enhance the experience further, the internal audio is more than sufficient for everyday viewing, with clear dialogue and balanced sound.
In terms of design, this TV is very impressive. The ultra-thin panel and extremely slim bezel make the screen feel almost borderless, allowing for greater immersion. The overall look is modern and premium, fitting well into any contemporary living space.
Despite being a large 77-inch TV, it is lighter than expected, light enough for one adult male to handle during installation with care. This makes setup much easier compared to other TVs of similar size.
Another convenient feature is Bluetooth headphone support, which is perfect for watching TV alone at night. You can enjoy content without disturbing others while still getting an immersive audio experience.

Movie and Gaming Star Performer

The picture looks unreal — blacks are truly black, colors pop, and everything looks super sharp on the big screen. Games feel smooth and responsive with no lag that I can notice, even in fast action. Movies look like a theater at home, especially with HDR — dark scenes still show detail instead of turning into a gray mess. Overall, it’s a huge upgrade and I’d absolutely recommend it if you want a big OLED that delivers.

LG OLED C5 Stunning Picture with Great Sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The screen quality on the 83-inch LG OLED C5 is outstanding. OLED truly shines here—deep blacks, excellent contrast, and rich, accurate colors. Dolby Vision content looks especially impressive. Shows like Stranger Things look incredible, with dark scenes retaining detail while highlights really pop.
I already own a 77-inch LG OLED C3, so this comparison comes from real-world use. Even though the size difference between 77 inches and 83 inches doesn’t seem large on paper, it is very noticeable in practice. Installed in a dedicated media room, the 83-inch screen feels significantly more immersive and delivers a true home-theater experience.
Another pleasant surprise is the sound quality. For a TV, it’s much better than expected—clear dialogue, decent bass, and a fuller soundstage compared to most flat-panel TVs. It’s good enough that you don’t immediately feel the need for a soundbar.
The new webOS UI feels smooth, modern, and responsive. Navigation is intuitive, apps load quickly, and the overall experience feels polished.
Overall, the LG OLED C5 is an excellent upgrade, especially if you’re coming from a 77-inch OLED. Exceptional picture quality, surprisingly strong built-in audio, and a refined user experience make it a fantastic choice for a media room.
