Excellent Trimmer w/ support for other attachments

I bought this 60V DeWALT trimmer to match my other DeWALT tools, and a I've been extremely happy with it. I used it all last summer when we had a lot of rain, for my yard and to trim around the fence both on the maintained side as well as the open area. This helped to keep down the critters coming into our yard.
And because of the support for other attachments, I can swap out the string trimmer with my Ryobi edger attachment and I don't have to power up my gas trimmer/edger anymore.

YEARS OF USE, DOES NOT DISAPPOINT

This unit has plenty of power. If there are any complaints, I suggest checking your batteries or how your abusing your tool. You have to use the large 60V batteries and not be forcefully abusive!
I have only 1 issue, at the clamping coupler. it wiggles a little, I have looked it over many times and there isn't much to be done about it.
The brush cutter when used respectably, with cut through some impressive thick saplings. misuse it once, and get a good scare... I DID!
SAVE THE PROTECTIVE CAP. DO NOT LOSE THAT. When you change attachments you need to be sure and put the plastic cap on the removed attachment. that what keep the inside drive shaft clean and functioning smooth.
I do wish the additional attachments were available in ASLASKA!!! #DEWALTlisten up

I upgraded from the 20v string trimmer. This has good power, works well, and is fairly ergonomic. I'm reading some bad reviews to do with the universal tool attachment - I didn't find the tools hard to change out (I also bought the brush head). I thought it worked as it should, had good battery life for how powerful it was, and wasn't too loud. Getting the handles balanced is an art, I think I'm still working on exactly where I want it. I think it would be cool to mount the battery on the handle center bracket, that way the balance of the tool wouldn't change if you used a different battery size (6ah vs 9ah for example).
This tool is a bit much for my 5'2" wife - she doesn't care for it.
Also, removed a star because it doesn't come with a shoulder strap. Weirdly, the brush head came with a strap - I found the brush cutter was a little lighter.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Powerful, but heavy

I bought this a little over a month ago due to it being attachment capable. I reviewed the specs and understood what to expect for weight. Upon use, I realized the weight of it doesn't quite feel balanced and it's a lot of strain on your trigger hand/wrist. The safety is on one side of the handle and the power trigger is on the underside so it forces you to squeeze with your thumb and fingers, with a lot of weight from the power head and battery right behind it. But it's super powerful! I will just keep playing around with different ways to make it more comfortable to use while I build up my grip/forearm strength for it over time! I am in pretty darned good shape (lift weights) and tall, so I'd imagine a lot of women might want to go with something a little lighter/shorter. It would be awesome to find a way to alter the trigger mechanism a bit to allow you to adjust your grip slightly to fight fatigue.

I purchased this a few months ago and I really like the wide swath that the unit trims , longevity of the 20v battery , and great torque with the brushless motor ! I am going to invest in the edger next !
