Very disappointed. I had not unboxed the can because I was not ready to use it yet. When I did, the top had a 6 to 8 inch crack in the top. Totally unusable. What do I do now?

Broken Lid after 2 months of use

I purchased this trash can hoping it would be much better. I have purchased Umbra trash cans in the past but didn't find the larger size swing top that I had about 15 years ago. I have 2 kids in the home and just from normal use, the lid stopped working. After looking into it more, it completely broke. I am so disappointed in this trash can. I did recently purchase the Grand Swing Top to replace it. My only frustration is it might be a bit too small for my family size but I know that trash can will last!

This order included two bronze and one charcoal cans. The bronze can I kept has a design flaw. The mechanism that allows the can to open and close as well as open and stay is defective. When attempting to close from the stay position, the two pins are aligned “catty corner” instead of horizontally.
In order to get it to close you have to force the pins into alignment. I think eventually one or both will break as they are plastic.
This was a repeat purchase because I loved the initial one so much.

Finally - a kitchen trash can that is not only functional - it’s attractive! I love the bronze color! The step on feature works well, and the lid closes quietly. I also like that the bag is hidden by the lid rim, completing the slick look.
