Speaker sound is great but software is clumsy at best

Speaker sound is superb and system design concept is great but the app required to operate the system is clumsy and frequent updates are a nuisance.
Pros: Expandable, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Sound, straightforward setup with caveats

Streaming to speakers is simple and instant. However, when speakers are connected to a mesh WiFi network, stereo pairing can be a challenge, i.e., the paired speakers will get confused and un-paired by themselves.
Pros: Expandable, Integrated nicely with Airplay (iOS), Streams All My Music, and More, Wireless
Cons: Wireless connection can be unreliable at time

best home speaker I've ever had, hands down

I got both of my speakers as a gift but honestly i would have never bought these based on the price. I think the Sonos products are great! I think they are priced for the top 1% not normal people. they might want to think about this on the next product designs. I can think of 3 other brands that are awesome and at least half the price of Sonos.

Cons: EQing the speaker for each room is a huge pain

We use it in different rooms and I sometimes pair it with the beam we have in the living room. The sound is really amazing.
