Versa 3 Fail

I was very excited to get this upgrade from my original versa. Unfortunately the new non-existant haptic button that has replaced an actual button was a no go for me. I could only get it to work a small percentage of the time when I pressed it, and that was with it off my wrist, how useless. I seemed to get stuck on a screen and not be able to get to another for a few minutes. The touch screen is also laggy. Hoping they ditch this and go back to an actual button on their next "upgrade" Not a fan :(

Love my Versa3

This product is everything I hoped it would be. Set up was a breeze, it sinks great with my iPhone. I can’t believe how long the battery lasts, I have to charge it for 2hrs. once a week. I can’t wait for FitBit to connect with Google Assistant later this year so I can take advantage of that as well.

Poor ecosystem

I thought this would be a premium Smartwatch.
These fitbits are far too dependent on the app.
Limited apps as well.
I should not have to pull my phone out continuously while looking for data.
If you have a samsung galaxy (as i do) then I would avoid these as they do not measure up IMHO.
I will return.
Should have gotten a Garmin.

Very impressed so far

Personal experience with Fitbit, Polar and latest was a Fenix 5 (F5) from Garmin.
Very impressed so far. It is extremely light and comfortable (F 5 feels like a brick compared to this one). Heart Rate monitor is not as accurate as my F5 but its not that big of a difference; none of them are as good as a chest strap. I also track heart beat through Zwift with a strap and the V3 is 2 to 5 beats around the strap or a few seconds slower to adjust. Again, not a big deal. Configuration was very easy. Number of sports tracked is less than the F5 but there are enough for me. And what difference is there between interior cycling and spinning? Not much. Screen is SUPERBE especially compared to the Polar and F5. Huge difference. Clear anytime of the day and always on is excellent.
Battery life is short (probably 2 days for me as I use always on and high luminosity). Its perfectly normal: the clearer the screen and the more info you keep on on your screen, the more power you use; my F5 could last a week but the screen was horrible and hard to see. No issue for me with the V3; I charge it in the morning while drinking my battery and reading the papers. Charges in less than 30 min. Charging cable through magnet works extremely well.
The stairs measurement works perfect; my F5 did not measure my stairs 25% of the time. The V3 rarely misses one (so far).
The Fitbit environment (app and website) is equal to none. Loads of info available. I wish they had a dedicated app for IPAD (you need to use the IPhone app) and I would like to see some improvement in the display on their site. But your info is all there and easily customable. I also REALLY WISH their Fitbit Pay would work with BMO! I would love to use that.
Txtx and messages are transmitted very well from phone (android) to watch. Nice quick replies and customable icons. Works better than my F5. I haven't uses the watch yet to answer calls and talk through.
Finally, if you think of going for the Sense, do some research. The additional health data collected seems useless and something you will never use. The temperature variation would be nice but from what I read, its presented in ways that is difficult to find any use for.
Finally, at $250, its a great price compared to Polars and Fenix (around $800 for those). However, for people really into hard sports (ironman, triathletes, etc, I would probably go with those; more solid.

Looks great, easy setup.

Watch looks great but not too keen with the blue band that came with it. Will have to spend additional to get a black one.
Had one glitch where for some reason during the update, the time changed and had to figure it out. Had put me in a different time zone. The setup was easy and quick. So far so good. Still have my original Blaze.

Not bad smartwatch - continuous sales pitch
on May 16, 2021

Had this device for about 3 - 4 months, and it functions pretty well as advertised. However, there is a regular "push" on parts of the Fitbit smartphone app to subscribe to the "premium" program. Also, I downloaded a few "free" watch faces, and after a few days these no longer appear on the Fitbit, but rather are replaced by a number which one must enter on a web site to continue to use that watch face. And yes you guessed it, the website wants money to allow continued use. My Samsung or Huawei watches don't continuously pester me to buy like Fitbit does. Fitbit; the infomercial with a free smartwatch.

Brittle Product

I had the Versa 1 and Versa 2
Both lasted about 15 months…3 months beyond the warranty. Fitbit offered me a small discount on the Versa3, that was available at most retailers. No thanks, too risky on this brittle product

Won't last a year
on September 8, 2021

I bought the Versa being under the impression that Fitbit made quality products, boy was I wrong. It broke within the first year. Luckily for me it happened while it was still under warranty, I contacted Fitbit and they sent a replacement. A few months the replacement broke too. It was no longer under warranty by this time and Fitbit just offered a discount on a new model. I'm not sure if it's just the Versa or Fitbit in general, but I am never buying a Fitbit product again. I don't expect electronics to last forever, but for this price it most definitely should be more than a year.
