The OpenRun Pro 2 does the same thing as my old areoplex did, lets me connect to my smart phone and computer at the same time. So I don't have to use the other 3 shokz head phones to switch to phone and back to tv.
Upgraded to to Open Run 2 because I had a hard time hearing video at the gym with the regular Open Run Pro. Unfortunately, even with the "boost" these don't put out higher volume than the original.
I've had multiple sets of Shokz headsets: OpenRun, OpenRun Pro and OpenRun Pro 2. I've generally liked them. I use them for work, for exercise and for walking around. They have been, unquestionably, comfortable. So much so, that I frequently forget that I am wearing them.
But, for whatever reason, each and everyone of my sets has had one or two material problems. The first has been battery life. I put my headset on in the morning by 8 am. By 5 pm, my headset usually requires a charge. That's regardless of whether I've used it most of the day, or just a part of the day. The second has been connectivity. I have had at least two sets of OpenRun Pros, including my current set of OpenRun Pro 2s, that have not properly connected with my cell phone. Just this weekend, I tried speaking with several of my clients on my cell phone and, strangely, was unable to hear or otherwise communicate with them through my headset. Still, the headset worked when I wanted to listen to my music after my calls. The next day, my headset worked again when I used it for calls. This is not the first occasion this has occurred. The lack of consistency is frustrating.
The sound is incredible. And the volume level is good but not as loud as the regular openrun. That being said, I like my music loud! The distance that I can walk away from my phone is and still have connection is incredible. Which is important to me because I wear these all the time throughout my day and my phone isn’t on me all of the time.
These are definitely more comfortable and secure feeling than ear pods. The sound is good and phone use works well. However, I wear glasses and after a couple of hours they start to hurt around ears like new glasses might. Not sure if because i Of glasses or if they are just too small around ears. Time will tell
This product is a great start, I can see in a couple iterations, it being even better. However how much it moves on the ear, inconsistent sound play back, and a somewhat limited battery life for this day and age compared with weight. . . leaves room for improvement
