All features that make a great whole house backup

Was wanting a generator for emergency use during power outages. This WGen9500DF is just what I needed.

Initial impressions and set up

I purchased the WGen9500DF at the beginning of September, the package arrived undamaged and complete. The generator looks great. Assembly was straight forward. The problems I have read that other people had just needed a little forethought to avoid. The one thing I do agree with others on is that the oil supplied with the product is not enough. I had to add more to bring the oil level up to between the marks on the dipstick.
The generator fired up first time, performed changeover from one fuel to another without issue. After a few minutes it settled down to 242 V at 61.9 Hz. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this generator is. I followed the run in process over a period of days without any issues. One thing that I noticed on other reviews was people commenting on having 50 Amps available, this is not quite true, the main CB is rated for 38 Amps, the 50 Amps might be starting value.
I have not had to use it in a power outage but as mentioned before there have been no issues during the run in period.

Good features and performance

I really like the electric push button start, remote start, voltage, hz, hr and maintenance indicators, dual fuel and built in wheel and handle for easy maneuverability. It was impressive that it also came with a battery tender for the electric start battery.
I started it when I purchased it using both fuels and it started right up with each. I put varying loads on it and the volts and HZ were right on and didn't vary with changing loads. I added fuel stabilizer and used non oxygenated gas, this is important so the carburetor doesn't get gunked up.
I have had to use it 3 times it the first 6 months and it started the instant I hit the switch each time. Very impressive unit.

Easy to Use

After a horrible winter last year in Texas, we decided to be prepared before winter or the next emergency happened again. We had inquired with other friends and relatives and came up with this generator. One of our sons and many of our friends decided to purchase the same generator because we could run one of our a/c units to heat or have a/c in one side of the house and have the ability to use our lights and power 2 refrigerators. This generator can get us through any emergency!
