Bought this a month ago to replace another brands model This is a really good item. I love the toast button feature and the pull out tray feature-pulls out without you having to touch hot tray.

This purchase was a replacement for a VERY old Cuisinart that had done yeoman's duty over the years. I was a bit skeptical about coming down a notch, but I am so pleased with my new appliance. When coffee maker goes to heaven, I will certainly stick with Cuisinart again. An island of superiority in a sea of mediocrity.

Replaced same model purchased 6 years ago. I had same problems other reviewers had concerning heating element bending and catching fire--but only after six years. Decided to replace with hopes it would last another six years because really like features of toaster (especially crumb tray) and inexpensive. However, this unit takes much longer to heat up and it also makes a "popping" noise a couple times during use. Chalk this up to being heat related but my first toaster didn't do it.

This toaster oven is quite possibly the best one I've ever own except for one irredeemable flaw. When your food is ready the designers of this product decided you would best be notified by the shrieking or a loud, smoke detector like, beep, for about 20 seconds. I wish they had a way to disable the beeping or at least would warn people they'll hear a smoke detector every time their food is ready.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
