It works much like the original version we replaced . Old one had heating element front lower started to grow and warp. New version ( N ) looks the same. Only real complaint is the beeper when done is 3 times as loud as the old. It sounds like the smoke detectors going off. If I knew it was this loud I would not have purchased it.

I'm still getting use to it. One thing is the buzzer it is to loud and hurts out ears. My old one which was a Cuisinart was better except the all the information that was painted on the front wore off. All my kitchen top appliances are Cuisinart. I would recommend this to a friend warning them of the loud buzzer on toast that goes longer then I feel it needs to
