I bought this because I am tired of the quartz tube toaster ovens that work very slowly and inconsistently. This unit has the thinner heating element we used to call a cal-rod. So far it works very well. The one thing I have to remember is that for oven, preheating is necessary. Without preheating, the rod gets very hot during the temperature ramp up and might burn the surface of the food. Toasting has been fairly consistent. Haven't done any broiling yet. It would be really nice if the knobs had a white line on them to indicate where they are pointed. The black raised spot on a black knob isn't very visible, depending on the room lighting. Let's see, where's my white paint!

All with ease and all cooked just right. No more lifting pan from oven. Just slide pan out. Fits perfectly on the counter of my small kitchen.

For the food items we've used it for, this toaster oven has delivered nicely. Very even toast and quick and easy baking/broiling. Cleanup us very easy too. Only downside is while there are raised notches on the all-black knobs, they lack visual indicators to make it easier to set temp, etc. However, so far so good.

the toaster function is terrible. If you select medium (middle of the dial) it burns the toast. If you lower the setting the toast has no color. The only way to get browned toast is to watch and remove from machine before the toast is burnt.

This is by far the very best toaster oven, I love it, and all Cuisinart products!!! Its attractive and doesn't take up a large part of my counter, and its affordable. I also have this oven at my condo in Florida and wouldn't consider any other product. Its perfect for toasting, baking and roasting with great results (and I've done all three) and I love the fact I don't have to start my large stove oven. If in doubt, this is the perfect purchase.
