We were looking for a replacement toaster oven that was not wider than our old one, but not smaller either. This Cuisinart model TOB-40N was just right: slightly larger in width and height, but best of all, a couple of inches deeper. This meant it would fit in the space we needed to put it, but still give us more room inside. You can bake a pie in a 9-inch pan.
The instruction guide and recipe booklet tells you what you need to know, but be sure to read it carefully. The knobs control different functions and settings.
Don't try to keep the power cord wrapped around the storage cleats in the back--the cord needs to be at least an inch away from the oven or it will be damaged by the heat. And always unplug it when not in use or you'll be using electricity.
The recipes are a good starting place, but the directions are vague about the position in which to put the rack and/or baking pan. Also, sometimes the directions say "rack" when it seems like it should be "pan." In a few cases the level at which you should put the rack or pan is not specified. So, be flexible and plan on some trial-and-error.
We've had this about a month, and it does everything we have needed to do. We're happy.

What I really needed when I purchased this Toaster Oven Broiler was a good toaster for bread & English muffins. This is that! The other features are nice to have, but in my opinion, the job of a toaster is toast! Mission accomplished! I have had other toaster ovens that do not meet that standard. This one does.

The deciding factor in our having this toaster oven is that you can set the toast setting once and then each time you use it you can just push start and it will toast the same each time. Other toasters you have to turn the dial for the amount of toasting time every time you use it and it is difficult to get it the same each time. Makes it mush easier and quicker to use with better results.

Great toaster oven but very annoying sound when finished cooking. Sounds like a home smoke detector going off which is very startling.There is no option to enable you to silence the alarm.

Overall it is a great design and good for baking, but toast making is another story. I'm on my second unit, and it has the same problem as the first, on light setting it toasts like it is on well done. There must be a design flaw with these toaster ovens, as the one I got my mother-in-law does this too. Also, the beep to let you know it is done toasting is extremely loud and annoying. It does bake well though.
