It does not toast well at all. The toast comes out burnt on one half and still white on the other half. You need to rotate the bread half way through to get even color. Since we use this mostly to make toast, the performance is very disappointing. The top of the oven gets very hot while baking, hot enough to possibly cause a burn. The first time a baked a small casserole, the oven tipped forward when I slid the rack out to remove the dish. The weight of the casserole was too much for the oven to stay secured.
The bottom line is that the coffee has a good flavor. Issues were with the unit itself.
The lid doesn't fit well and has to be snapped into place, inconvenient. Temperature is the other issue. It runs very hot even though I like my coffee very hot. The first cup is fine but the second or third cup get hotter and hotter. This causes a burned flavor if left a while before having another cup. Maybe there could be a way to adjust this.
The coffee maker makes the water so much hotter. This is my favorite remark about this machine. It makes my old maker useless. Plus, the special feature for one to four cups brews a consistent cup of coffee. I am so happy to have changed to Cuisinart.
So far the item has functioned well, providing even cooking throughout the food. Toasted items come out browned to what you desire. Heats up quick to temperature setting. Some things could have been designed better. A pop-out tray would help avoid potential skin burns. The setting buttons are backlit and hard to see partially because of that. Larger text on the buttons and having the text lit, rather than the background, would definitely help the user to read easier.
