Changing stations?

I bought this because my old radio died. I work in a machine shop,very loud. This radio is loud enough to hear. I don't like how changing the FM station changes the AM station. Why does that happen?

I bought this to listen to baseball and football games while sewing. Perfect size and the sound is just fine with am/fm radio and cds. Nicely designed and cool red.

Bought it for my fiancé for his birthday. He wanted something simple for his garage. He is very pleased with it especially with how loud it can get as he has some hearing issues so needs it loud when he is working
