Almost perfect, but some obvious shortcomings

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really really wanted to love, and keep, this laptop. However, I am going with the Zenbook S14 instead. The keyboard and 15" form factor on the 7i are amazing (Minus the coating on the keyboard that is already turning shiny. They almost got everything right, but seemingly are not listening to reviews and top reviewers when it comes to a few key issues. Mainly the ridiculously stiff hinge and power button placement. Really, how would these things get through the planning process? My pros and cons are below.
Pros:
-Nice LCD screen resolution and size. I actually prefer the screen size over the 14".
-Amazing keyboard! and the 15" body size helps because again, Im taller with bigger hands and the body size is actually perfect when in use. Doesnt feel cramped at all. This is one of the biggest things keeping me from not liking this laptop... Lenovo in general has great keyboards.
-USB C on both sides is great.
-Battery life is great... about same as the Zenbook.
-Runs super cool and fans hardly ever fire up.
-Lays 180 degrees flat. I love this.

Cons:
-The stiff lid is ridiculous.. and I mean its a 2 hander (Thats what she said). No excuse for this when Lenovo has other laptops that have a one handed lid. Ive literally had the laptop slam back down on the table because I was trying to open and it slipped.
-The keyboard keys are starting to turn shiny after only 2 weeks of use. I tried rubbing alcohol thinking it was just oil from my hands, but it's not. The anti-slip coating, or whatever is on the keys, is rubbing off, or getting "polished" from use.
-Compared to the Zenbook S14 with same processor, the system will lag and skip at times. This was happening on our Slim 7i 14" as well... so not sure what Lenovo has going on but its super annoying. Our Galaxy Book4 Pro with the same chip as the 7i 14" doesnt have the lag, and again, the Zenbook doesnt have the same as the 15" Aura.
-The LCD can show a "glow" around certain parts of the screen borders when booting up and in darker screens. It seems cheap.
-Although the laptop is light for it's size, it still is a half pound heavier than the Zenbook, and then has a stupid 2 part larger power brick that adds to size and weight
-Power button on the side is ridiculous as well. Every reviewer calls this out but they keep doing it on this gen design. Super easy to touch and put the laptop to sleep if you are trying to move the thing.
-Design is boring.... and says YOGA real big in the bottom right corner of the deck. Its not a yoga, and just looks dumb to me.

However, I'm worried about my privacy because when it's asleep, it wakes up to the login screen when I make a noise (e.g., when I set my phone on the desk) so I suppose it's listening to me at all times and I can't find any setting to turn it off...

The keyboard is great, the TouchPad is a little annoying but that's likely user related. I'll have to update after more time of use. The screen is great, beautiful.
