Superb UW on a Budget (for some)

Great monitor! Has VRR flicker (many monitors do...), and I prefer using BFI (Black Frame Insertion) which works perfectly on this monitor at 165Hz. To achieve 180Hz you need to enable Overclocking in the monitor settings, which can in some cases reduce the life of the panel, so I don't use it.
For a VA panel (coming from Fast IPS which have faster pixel response times), I am super impressed with the motion clarity!
I use GameVisual -> Scenery with 52 Saturation and the colours are awesome. I game and watch content only and don't use this for any productivity.
Definitely the best 34" UWQHD on the market when on sale for many gamers!!!

Outstanding VA panel

Outstanding monitor. Excellent, solid build quality, well designed stand, and surprisingly vivid, accurate and fast display.
Contrast and image clarity is exceptional, better than any other VA panel I’ve ever used. Colour is gorgeous, and with minor tweaks is vibrant and well saturated without any sacrifice to contrast or clarity.
Motion clarity is also very good for a VA panel. At least on my panel, ghosting and black smearing are minor to nonexistent.
The only issue is that default gamma is a bit high. But in most games I’ve had to turn it down only one notch from default, so it is more of a nitpick. Strongly recommend this panel if you don’t want an OLED (or they are out of budget).

Not bad

Overall, a pretty decent monitor with many excellent features. However, despite the excellent specs, the panel requires a serious amount of tweaking to get the best, most vibrant colours. My LG ultrawide and Samsung G5 definitely had more colorful and vibrant screens. However, for the price the resolution and clarity are excellent. After changing settings such as saturation and setting it to standard power mode, Cinema preset, etc I am happy enough to keep it. Note that the 180hz advertised refresh rate is overclocked and caused some minor graphics stuttering - changing it back to 165hz resolved that problem and it is much more stable. The speakers really suck (they are 2 watt compared to the 7 watt on the LG and don't get very loud) but I needed a built-in pair for occasional use. I may eventually add a wired speaker, but for now I'll live with them as is. So in summary, a good monitor for the price, but I think Samsung and LG definitely use better panels for color reproduction and vibrancy. If you can get this monitor on sale, it's definitely worth purchasing, but I wouldn't pay full price due to the lackluster color of the VA panel.

Feels Like $1000+ Monitor!

Lets start by saying that paying full price for this monitor still feels like a "steal". If you're in the market for an UltraWide 21:9 3440x1440 monitor and it's in stock grab it and run!
If you're like me and do your diligence before a purchase like such, you know that the TUF 34" comes with everything you need for an impressive gaming experience. The 21:9 aspect ratio combined with HDR (don't let the low peak brightness "nits" turn you off, it's very bright) the monitor adjust as the picture changes to provide the best contrast ratio, it's only noticeable when changing windows from HDR to SDR. Plus if your looking for anything over 400 nits be ready to open your wallet up even further.
After I used Microsoft's HDR Calibration program the picture is even sharper and colours are very accurate.
The next step up is a OLED 34" from another well known "Gaming Brand" for over $1200!!! The worst part is when you compare their specs side by side you'll see that just because it says 1000 nits brightness, you'll never truly get that in real world applications (proven by test results available all over the internet.)
Overall this monitor is a great value with the 21:9 aspect ratio it is a huge upgrade over the normal 16:9 monitors, especially for games.
Pro:
- The 21:9 Aspect Ratio is a welcome upgrade for most
- Great text clarity with zero blocking effect
- Ability to reach and utilize full 400 nits brightness
- Price to performance ratio is far better then anything I've seen
Cons:
- $600 is still VERY expensive for a computer monitor
- The stand has huge feet, bigger then most large TVs
- If your not careful you risk "Burn-in"

Nice Curves! Seriously though a Great Investment

If you have used a high quality, high resolution flat screen monitor for the past few years, you are in for a treat if you decide to try a curved screen instead.
I have used ASUS pretty much exclusively the last 17-18 years. Other brands were used before this, but with constant gaming, the ASUS RoG series were the best choice. TUF, this monitor’s series, if just as good in my opinion, the features for gaming are easy to access and setup with the OSD buttons in the center of the monitor’s bottom frame area. A maximum of 180 Hz screen refresh makes the monitor keep the fast paced graphics data flowing to it very smooth and best yet are additional quality of life options to filter out blue lighting if you so desire.
Once you have plugged it in, your PC can automatically detect it and set the Microsoft generic driver to run the monitor, or if you own a Pro version of Windows, you can disable the automatic driver update and then after downloading the ASUS TUF driver for the monitor from the manufacturer’s website, you can update to the original ASUS driver and coluor profile.
I found that my MMO and ARGP games played extremely well after increasing my screen refresh to 120 Hz as I had initially left it at the default 60 Hz. You do this by right clicking anywhere on your desktop background, choosing “Display Settings” then in the list, find “Advanced Display” click on it, and then choose a new refresh rate (mid window) which can be up to either 165 Hz or 180 Hz.
As I explained earlier, the monitor itself can be preset to have a maximum refresh of either 165 or 180, you need to set this on the actual monitor through the use of the control buttons in the center bottom area of the monitor’s frame. Using a higher refresh rate just increases power consumption, but with a maximum of 27 watts of power used by this particular monitor, that is not even worth noting.
For normal everyday use, such as opening a webpage and browsing, the expanded area is great, almost staggering in how much information is available. I decided to also increase my text/font sizes to make it easier to read. This is also done by right clicking on the empty desktop background, and again, selecting “Display Settings” you will find it under “Scale & Layout” choose 125% and that was quite enough of a change to make reading text much easier.
The resolution is 3440 pixels wide by 1440 pixels in height. I would recommend finding specific new wall papers as Windows stretches your current wall paper to fit, but cuts off the top and bottom of those images.
From my own perspective.after setting the monitor up, the curved image was really great to see, it brings the sides a bit closer to your eyes, so that the picture and any motion you have in gaming, looks better, more in depth and brings a quality to gaming that was never there before. I hope that if you have never tried a curved monitor, you enjoy the experience as much as I have! Best wishes all!

Great Monitor

This was a replacement for my old 35" Asus Predator monitor I had for 8 years, after it kicked the bucket.
It's a good looking monitor. The screen is pretty light, so it's and easy to mount on an arm - it's VESA compatible. I'm pleased with it's brightness, colour, black/white contrast and resolution.
The speakers are ok - nothing great. I use a small sound bar for better sound quality, so it wasn't an issue. (Monitors aren't really known for their amazing sound anyways imo.)
I've had it for a few weeks now and have no regrets!

Nice colour

Very nice VA panel from Asus. Colours are amazing and there’s very little smearing which is a nice plus seeing that VA panels are none for black smearing. All in all I’m happy with this purchase.
