So Disappointed in the Aloe Vera Scent Change!

Dear Soft Soap: I've been a user of your old version Soothing Clean Aloe Vera Hand Soap for many years. It was the closest soap that was almost fragrance free on the market. I used to carry some in my purse and would even bring it with me when I would visit friends because I am so sensitive to fragrance. In addition, it kept my hands from drying out and cracking in the cold PA winters since I am a frequent hand washer. Your new product is terrible. The fragrance is so strong and leaves a residual fragrance on my hands that gives me a headache. Why did you change it???? I am so disappointed. I am now searching for a new fragrance-free product that won't bother me and make me ill and will keep my hands from cracking. It's too bad because you lost a loyal customer here. I know I mustn't be the only person with this same complaint or issue. I'm hoping you will bring it back on the market. Until then, my hand soap purchases will be with another company. So sad. :(

Strong, cloying smell

I've been using SoftSoap (or generic versions) for years. I picked up the (new?) Aloe variety at a local grocery store (Wegman's) without giving it much thought, because it was the only version of this brand on the shelf. What a strong, cloying smell! I hate throwing stuff away but am tempted to do it rather than have to go through the entire 50 oz refill.

New scent is unpleasant

My family and I have been using Softsoap Aloe Vera hand soap for years and we recently noticed that they have changed their formula for the scent. It used to be so light and pleasant but now it smells very artificial and unpleasant. It is disappointment. Please consider changing it back.

Ruined Hand Soap Product

My family used this Softsoap product forever and had to change due to the new smell and harshness of the new formula. Colgate has the nerve to tell unsatisfied customers to call so they "can make it right". Their idea of making it right is to get you to buy a different "fragranced" product.

Dried, cracked bleeding hands because of new soap

I have eczema and this was the liquid soap that I could use without making my hands red, dry, cracked and bleeding. I recently refilled my soap dispensers with a new refill pack (from bjs, so it’s a double pack) that says it’s the same great soap. It is not. One use of this new soap left my hands cracked and bleeding. The fragrance lingered for hours, even after using other soap to try to wash it off. Now I need to begin the costly, time consuming and painful process of finding a new soap that won’t hurt me after just purchasing a new refill pack. There are loads of people out there who need gentle, fragrance free soaps. They were probably all buying your soaps. This reformulation will make you lose them all. Please bring back the old soap. Also, please note your packaging when the formula has changed so that people like me don’t buy soaps we can’t use.

New scent is too strong for those with allergies.

This aloe vera scented liquid hand soap was perfect with moisturizers and light scent. Recently when both my sister and I who have allergies to fragrances, purchased the aloe vera the bottle shows 'fresh scent', but unfortunately the scent is too strong for either of us to continue to use. In looking at other reviews it appears that there are many people who feel the same way. There are enough other scents of Softsoap for those without allergies to choose from, so we are not sure why a stronger fragrance had to be added to this product. Unfortunately, we have had to stop purchasing your brand of hand soap.

New scent stinks and hard on the hands.

We have used aloe soap for as long as we can remember. Almost no scent and very good for the skin. New formula stinks which interferes with my cooking as now all I can smell is the soap no matter how much I rinse. It is also causing skin irritation. Have to go back to bar soap until I can find a replacement which will obviously not be Softsoap. A disgusting way to treat people who have supported Softsoap for so many years.
