I was gifted this lock and I used it in my main door on one of my rental property. The esthetic look is amazing and I have received multiple compliments on it. It is very sturdy, weather proof for Texas outdoor heat and functions very well. Nice thing it comes with batteries so you have everything you need in the pack. Instructions are available in the app and very easy to follow.
I bought the Yale a Sherlock too that works with Apple HomeKit. It was easy to install and set up and I love that I can use the Apple key to unlock it.
Wanted an alternative to be able to open my door with more than just the number pad or fingerprint (which has been a hit or miss depending on the person and weather).
The Apple “key” feature was what drew me in and I’ve had good experiences with this brand in the past! Delivers on a solid product platform. Be sure to choose the right option(s) as you can have full WiFi integration or Bluetooth only. I opted to purchase the module and I can full control my lock remotely including notifications for folks who are entering / leaving or not having locked the door!
What more to say besides quality and features? Looks great. Works flawlessly when using watch or phone to unlock. You don’t have to worry if it’s locked especially with automatic locking. No keys to forget and great battery life. We are pleased with this purchase and the change in our comings and goings.
The Yale application is outright horrible. You may be standing a foot away from the lock the app will loose its connection, it's not Bluetooth problem, it is the app as it gets in inconsistent state. You can kill the app and relaunch it and will be working for 30 sec until loosing the connection again.
The Yale app does not display connect state of the lock. You can have your door full ajar click to lock, the lock will move and the app will display the door in unlocked. You won't be able to unlock the door via the app. ' Apple HomeKey via wallet.app does not work at all. The lock chimes in recognition but not unlocking. HomeKit features work better but only available to a single user in a household. if you want HomeKit for entire household you need to purchase HomeHub.
