from Coquitlam,
I really like my new printer, I've only had it for a short time. I've scannned some photos and they came out very clear and true colour.. The only problem I've had is with the loading tray for sheets, it's dificult to pull out and close. Otherwise it's great..
Bought this to replace a 4 year old, dead Canon TR8520 primarily because it uses the same inks and I had recently bought some.
WHAT A MISTAKE. You'd think in 4 years things would improve, but rather they're worse than ever. Connects to wifi just fine, but it can't be seen by any device reliably. Want to turn it off? Even that takes 5 minutes. Want to disconnect and reconnect to wifi to troubleshoot? Prepare to wait forever.
Canon support is non-existent. Packing this thing up, hauling it back to Best Buy and unfortunately now it's e-waste like the other only 4 year old Canon it replaced.
My last Canon printer - although I know having owned Epson and others in the past none of them are any good. All manufactured trash.
E 6004 error. I've had this before on other Canons and there's not much that can be done other than send it for service. I doubt the printer is worth what it will cost to service.
Trying Epson next. I used to be loyal to Canon, but I've spent too much money on faulty and flaky Pixmas to support them.
That said, when the printer worked (mostly, up until now), it did a great job and had great prints. Therefore, 2 stars for the quality when it does work.
This printer is an All-In-One. I don't use the fax part since I don't know how to connect it to my Bell line. No big deal there as most things I want to do don't require that.
I bought this particular printer because the most important thing was that I could have it wired - so yes it's wired to my computer, through a USB to "c" type connector. Everything so far works according to what I want to use it for.
One issue is - I found out if I want to print anymore than ONE PAGE AT A TIME, it won't. The printer message on its screen says, check (front and back) inside the printer for paper jam. There never was any paper jam, and so if I want to print - say five pages? Here's what I do, I print one page, then after that one is printed, I print the second page, and so on. It's some trouble, but hey it works. So if anyone can figure out how to allow this printer just simply print more than just one page at a time. Leave a reply. Thank you
Inconsistent connectivity. Too many headaches. Frequently troubleshooting to try and connect the printer with my computer. Wastes my time. However when it prints it performs well. I well not by again!
