They are not 4 inches

They are approximately 3 3/4 inches and there is a small gap when placed in unit.

Absurd Request

I got the filters and inserted one into my air exchanger. In about a month, Ill remove it and somehow try to ascertain whether these filters are better at capturing the pet hair and dander (Maine Coon Cat and Golden Retriever), mood and dust than the washable permanent filter that came with the HVAC system. Please do not send me anymore review requests. Your queries are absurd!
