Make sure to check the inside dimension of your return grill track where the filter would sit. A standard grill, at least in NC is the actual size called out for the filter. In other words, if your return grill size calls for a 14x25 filter, the inside dimension of the grill track is 14"x25". This is the case for other size return grills as well. A 3M Brand filter is slightly less than the 14"x25 so it fits nice and snug in the filter track. FilterBuy 14x25 is appx. a 1/2" less in both directions so it did not fit snug enough in the grill track and was letting air pass by the sides of the filter and was flopping around in the track space. I ended up putting sticky back foam tape around the grill track to take up space for a better fit and seal. You can purchase a FilterBuy custom size filter to fit snug in the space but they are roughly twice the cost as their standard size filter making them about the same cost as a standard 3M filter. Bottom line is you can save some money with FilterBuy if you buy the standard size filters. Just be prepared to modify your return grill track to make sure the filter fits snug enough to not let air pass by the filter. Some small amount of air passing by the filter is not detrimental, just not as efficient as you should expect for the filter to do its intended job.
