So nice to make dough

You're never too old to try something new!

I love to bake but issues with a torn rotator cuff in my right arm was making it difficult to work with batter of any texture. My sister had recently purchased a Kitchen Aid mixer and was extolling its virtures. I've never been happier I took her advice. Not only was I able to cook up a storm of shortbread (4 dozen) in time for the Holiday Season, but was able to do so with no physcial isssue. I cut the processing time in half, the splatter screen saved my kitchen from disaster (usually I wind up with more confectioners sugar on my than in the bowl) and clean up via my dishwasher another bonus. Having mastered the cookies recipe I decided to try making bread but never dared knowing my physical limitation would only court disaster. The Kitchen Aid mixer handled the job with ease and precision resulting in another successful recipe. I''l be making more of both those recipes. My final test and maybe the most arduous was a Christmas Cheesecake - which required 4 bricks of cream cheese among all the other ingredients. It didn't flinch at the task. And with the use of the second mixing bowl which came with the particular model I purchased, making the icing was no more difficult than gathering the ingredients. I'm so thankful I finally took the step to invest in this appliance. Thanks to my sister Deb for her advice and encouragement. By the way I'm an 80 year old grandpa living alone who has recently started baking among other things as a means of keeping myself busy. Thanks Kitchen Aid for making my senior years just that more adventurous.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love to cook and bake, but like so many people I often limit the recipes I try based on how much time and difficult it is to prepare. This machine has brought back a joy a joy to my kitchen with a desire to try new recipes. Bread was always a difficult one, having to kneed the dough for so long. Mixing bread dough with this mixer was a breeze, and how fluffy the bread turned out. I only regret in waiting so many years before making the decision to buy a Kitchaid.
