Lock doesn't close all the way

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this mixer as a gift. It's beautiful and works well. My concern is that the lock mechanism doesn't quite move to a full lock. It holds unless there is some tough mixing and has unlocked itself. Is this a safety feature?

Won’t buy another one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 3 mixers all were gifts 2 of which are kitchenaid, I don’t like either of them. Their terrible design infuriates me. It bogs down when there’s anything slightly stiff to mix. You have to lock it to keep it from bouncing. The beater falls off easy if you’re just trying to scrape the batter off with a spatula. It doesn’t lock in place when it’s up so it falls on you when your cleaning batter off the beater. I have another brand that locks in place automatically when it’s up or down. It’s much more convenient and user friendly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Why did I wait so long to purchase this???

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a Xmas gift. I never had a stand mixer, always made my cakes, breads and cookies by hand like my grandmother. Great addition to my kitchen. There are things I don't like, it is noisy, and clunky. I have to get used to the machine, also everything changes living in high elevations.
