I bought this and previously reviewed it, the motor was defective within 5 uses. I was shipped a replacement, not the same as original because it was not available. I have used this one 2 times now. 1 time to make frosting and the 2nd time to make cookies. Nothing heavy. Same issue with the motor. This is a defective tive product. Buyer beware.

perfect for so many tasks!!

I've had my **KitchenAid Artisan Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer** for over three years now, and it's honestly one of the best kitchen investments I've ever made. This thing is a total workhorse!
From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by the build quality. It's heavy (in the best way), sturdy, and feels like it will last forever—my parents still use a similar model from decades ago without issues. The motor is powerful enough to handle everything I throw at it: thick cookie dough, stiff bread kneading, fluffy whipped cream, and even meringues that reach perfect peaks in minutes. It kneads sourdough like a champ without straining or walking across the counter, and the 10 speed settings give you precise control—from gentle folding to high-speed whipping.
The tilt-head design makes it super easy to add ingredients or swap attachments, and cleanup is straightforward since the bowl, beater, dough hook, and whisk all detach and go right in the dishwasher. I love the huge variety of compatible attachments too—I've added a pasta roller, ice cream maker, and spiralizer over time, turning it into a multi-tasking beast.
It sits proudly on my counter because it looks gorgeous (I went with the classic Empire Red), and it's surprisingly quiet for how powerful it is. No more arm fatigue from hand-mixing big batches!
If you're serious about baking or just want to make your time in the kitchen more enjoyable, I can't recommend the KitchenAid stand mixer enough. It's not cheap, but the durability, performance, and joy it brings make it absolutely worth every penny. Five stars all the way!

Motor making noises

I have had this mixer for 10 months and used it maybe 8 times. It is now making noises when using it on any speed. I had a kitchenaid in 1998 and just had to replace it. This one already not working properly and is out of "limited warranty" Buyer beware.

Beautiful mixer, but some not so welcome changes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 4th KitchenAid mixer in the last 40 years. The other 3 still work but have been moved to alternate locations. I really like this mixer. The black matte finish is really pretty and very easy to clean. The mixer is powerful and all my attachments from my previous mixers work with the new one. I am VERY disappointed that KitchenAid decided to cheapen the mixers by removing the spring tension on the attachment shaft. Fortunately, there are aftermarket producers of those, so I was able to put one on the mixer. I also think it's ridiculous that KitchenAid decided to use some cheap metal on the top of the whisk, so you can't wash it in the dishwasher. I didn't see the slip in the box that said to hand wash it until I had already run it through the dishwasher. Now it has black crap that rubs off on everything. I threw it in the drawer and am using one of the older ones. They have also removed the ports on the side of the body that allowed access to the motor brushes. With the others I've only once ever replaced brushes, but it was very easy. From what I'm reading online, you can't change the brushes now. If they wear out you just have to replace the entire motor unit. It's obvious that even though the KitchenAid stand mixer is still the best one on the market, they are gradually cheaping it and cutting corners. That's a shame.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Kitchenaid Mixer was a present to myself after the holidays. I sure wish I'd had it before our celebrations. It is a breeze to use, and works like a charm. I've made cookies, cakes, and breads. Last night, my bread machine engine finally blew out, and it was my Kitchen Aid to the rescue. A beautiful Italian loaf sits waiting to satisfy. I look forward to trying many more recipes! I plan to make pasta soon, with the pasta making attachments to I've purchased!

Vibrates

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When in use, the top portion of the mixer vibrates as if it is loose from the bottom half. It does not mix smoothly at all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first tilt-head mixer. I already had a bowl lift style. My new tilt-head mixer is so much easier to make my American Buttercream with. I just love the ease of the tilt-head.
