Underperforms - defunct in 3 years

I received this mixer model as a gift three years ago. The mixer is used quarterly and now overheats and smokes with the slightest use. It also does not perform well with basic bread doughs and other items. The price and reputation of the brand do not match with the product I received -and I’m hoping that it’s a manufacturer defect on this one unit -but either way it’s extremely disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this mixer for my lovely bride who makes 13 varieties of Christmas cookies every year and gives them to loved ones. She absolutely LOVES the new machine and all of the included amenities. We now own three of these mixers, one of which is working, but "getting tired." Our new candy apple red mixer is her go-to now !!
Sadly, within two weeks of use, the spatula beater failed. The material of which the spatula is made cracked, thus allowing food to accumulate and possibly contaminate future batches of food. I ordered a complimentary replacement and hope that this will not become an ongoing issue. My guess is that this new attachment was not lab tested before being offered to customers. As one who has now field-tested the attachment, I am not pleased with the feature and have determined that its benefit is questionable. We'll see ! In general, I give the machine a rating of 4.9.
