It is so beautiful, works great, quiet, easy to use & clean. I was amazed at how it mixed the ingredients so smoothly & scraped the bowl while mixing to ensure everything got mixed in.

Great all around mixer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for the wife. She loves cooking and baking. This is not her first Kitchenaid. She had the 5qt bowl lift. Wanted to try the tilt-head. I think she likes the tilt better than the lift.

Seems a bit under-powered

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a little disappointed with the performance. The unit seems to be under-powered. I made a 1/2 batch of chocolate chip cookies by the Toll House recipe and the mixing head kept jumping up and down until the lock switch disengaged. I had a similar experience making a loaf of medium sized french bread. The motor sounded like it was struggling and the mixing head jumped up and down until the lock switch disengaged. I made a 1/2 batch of Quaker Oat recipe oatmeal cookies today and the mixing mostly went well.
A few years ago I bought my Mom a 7 Qt. Bowl Lift mixer and it is an unstoppable beast. I just wanted something smaller for me but with similar performance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A gift for both of us!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for my fiance (who does almost all the cooking for us) as an early Christmas gift, and so he could help make Thanksgiving dinner for both our families this year. We usually have holidays at my parent's house, but my dad had major surgery and cancer recently, so couldn't risk the visitors this time. He loves it, and has already used it a ton. And the red color is really pretty! And I get the gift of all his amazing meals and desserts.

Serious quality control issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is now the fourth stand mixer I will need to return because of defects. This time the head lock lever will not stay in place when I mix dough. It slowly slides back and the head of the machine starts to bounce.
