Small and Vacuum Seals

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Foodsaver VS1210 helps extend the life of food by vacuum sealing and the machine doesn’t take up too much room. I like that the machine can be stored flat or vertically, which makes it easy to put away the Foodsaver when not in use. The downside of this being a space saving version of a Foodsaver is that it doesn’t have a bag or roll cutter installed inside. I don’t mind just using a pair of scissors instead and rather have a smaller machine. The machine is easy to use with just three buttons. I like that it also has the ability to use other Foodsaver accessories in addition to sealing bags. It did not take much of a learning curve to use this machine. I don’t find it any less powerful than full size Foodsavers. One negative of this machine is that it does require a bit of muscle strength to lock the machine down before being able to use it. The cover has to be pressed on both sides before you can start to seal or vacuum which might be difficult for some people with strength issues. The Foodsaver is useful to store groceries in the freezer and to separate up items bought in bulk. I also like to use it to seal things like bags of chips and other snacks. I think this is a good vacuum sealer overall and especially good if you are low on space and want one with a smaller footprint.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this to freeze excess food purchased on sale/ Costco/ about to expire. Works great. Much better than I can do using a straw and lung power, or immersion in water. Also, I’ve been using it to save old photos, so I don’t have to worry about water or mould damage. Just for fun, I tried saving half an avocado with it. Couldn’t believe it. The avocado was just like fresh 3 days later.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is truly a great gadget.This is my first vacuum sealer and I literally blown away with the fact that how useful it is.The sealer came well packed. I find this unit easy to use and a real money saver now as groceries are so expensive. It does a great job, quickly removing air and sealing snugly. It makes food much easier to keep in the freezer and not get freezer burn. I love being able to seal things and pop them in the freezer for later use.I can keep my salad ingredients longer in the fridge and my frozen berries and meats do not get the ice build up on them. It works well because we simply divide up the meat in correct portions, vacuum pack and freeze.Another great thing I loved about it -it’s weight and size .It is small and lightweight so doesn’t take much space on your counter top,it fits in my kitchen cabinet easily when not in use.A few vacuum bags were provided to get you started. Also a 8ft * 11 inch vacuum bag roll came with it.You need to cut out from roll as per your desired length and seal one end. The bags are nice and heavy.I've had it about a month and not only did it help me make more room, but it also has helped me keep the vegetable and fruit fresh.
Overall I am super happy with this vacuum sealer. It is small, easy to store. I was pleasantly surprised how well this unit worked. I would definitely recommend this unit to everyone especially to the people with limited space !!

Great Product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up a FoodSaver Space Saver Vacuum Sealing System. Best thing I did! This is perfect for large families or singles. You can buy bulk or family size meat/chicken products when on sale and vacuum pack the number of pieces you need for a future meal. This is definitely cost saving. So simple to use with easy to follow instructions. The FoodSaver is also small enough for easy storage. It comes with an adapter, accessory hose, 2 qt bags. 2 gallon bags and a roll 11in x 8ft. No more freezer burn!
I would recommend this to a friend!

False Warranty Claims

I have a VS1230 model, about a year and a half old. The suction has completely stopped working and when I try to put my warranty claim in after going through their list of trouble shooting methods, they tell me the date code is invalid, even though it is on both the original box and the prong of the outlet plug. Clearly getting themselves out of honoring their warranty! Will not do business with FoodSaver again!

Don’t waste your money stops working after a bit

I bought this about 5 months ago worked great the first few times I used it, then it would not vacuum out the air. I contacted customer service which was a hassle. The lady acted like I was stupid and didn’t know what I was doing. I had to keep reminding her I already have a bigger food-saver I just wanted one for quick sealers. I finally got another one and again the first few times it worked great and then the same thing happened. Not only did it not vacuum out the air the side button kept sticking and it didn’t want to open after closing it shut. After all that now it quite working completely. For all those people who gave a good review I would be curious to see how it is working after several uses. I truly am disappointed and question whether Food Save still cares about the quality of their product because my other food saver works great and I have had for a very long time. Don’t waste your money on this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Won't Seal

I've previously had FoodSavers and they worked great for sealing everything, including jars, until they finally gave out.. Just purchased this model today primarily for sealing jars. Well, I tried to use it when I got home and the accessory hose doesn't even fit into the hole where it is suppose to go. It is too small, won't stay in place and falls out. Even if I try to hold it in place, it will not seal. I am using the correct jars, lids and FoodSaver accessory that goes over the jar/lid. I am returning this and will probably get a different brand. Plus the instructions are terrible!!!
