The lid won’t set around properly it’s defective . I got it out of the box. Lid won’t secure downward to fit around the oil box

Well it took me a minute to figure out why the light wasn't coming on because it felt warm when I plugged it up then as I let it sit it cools on, so I had to turn it all the way up past where is supposed to be and it works pretty good.
