Impressive QD-OLED gaming monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 32” screen is huge. I almost thought it was bowed, but it’s just an optical illusion due to sitting so close. Gaming is very immersive. At 240 Hz, games feels great and the mouse movement on desktop is ultra smooth.
The colors are excellent. The black levels are the most noticeable difference vs my IPS monitor. I no longer have to deal with IPS glow. With this QD-OLED, black is black - not dark grey. I don’t really notice any purple tinge, as reviews for previous year’s models noted. I tested the screen and found no dead pixels, banding, or dirty screen effect.
The monitor has an anti-reflective matte coating. For me it’s very useful since there’s a window across the room. It does add some graininess, which is visible on light-colored backgrounds.
This monitor does not have the new gen RGB V-stripe subpixel arrangement, which is supposed to improve text clarity. It has the previous gen triangular arrangement. There is green/pink color fringing on text if I look very closely, but I can’t really tell at normal distance. At 144 PPI, the text is still sharper than the 109 PPI of my 27” 1440p monitor.
One new feature, only on the 32” model, is that it’s VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500. The previous year’s model was True Black 400. This upgrade should result in increased brightness and higher contrast.
Also new to this model is a 98W USB-C port. I haven’t had a need for this feature yet, but it would be very useful if you want to connect your laptop to it.
It also now supports DP 2.1. This has more bandwidth than DP 1.4, so it no longer has to rely on display stream compression (DSC) to push high resolution and framerates. It also has two HDMI 2.1 ports. One of each cable is included.
Another change is there’s no TV OS. It’s strictly a monitor. There are no built-in speakers, but there is a headphone jack.
The power button and menu are controlled by a jog button on the back. It appears to be the same jog mentioned in reviews of other models, which has cracked for some people. I just hope they have improved the material so that this doesn’t happen anymore.
I do wish it was black instead of silver, though I don’t notice when I’m absorbed in a game. I also don’t like the big power brick, but I was able to hide it. The lighting on the back is cool, but you need it close to the wall to really shine.
Overall I’m very impressed by the G80SH. Although it appears to be an incremental upgrade over last year’s model, this is the best monitor I’ve ever had.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The 4K OLED display is stunning with deep blacks, vibrant colors, and amazing HDR that makes maps and environments look incredibly realistic. The 240Hz refresh rate combined with the ultra-fast response time makes movement feel buttery smooth, and I noticed a real improvement in tracking enemies and reacting quickly in fast-paced matches. There is virtually no motion blur or ghosting, and the input lag feels nonexistent. Whether I'm playing multiplayer or Warzone, everything looks crystal clear and incredibly responsive. The build quality is premium, setup was simple, and the monitor exceeded all of my expectations. If you're serious about Call of Duty or competitive gaming, this is one of the best gaming monitors you can buy. Highly recommended
