I bought this just before the holidays. This is large enough to cook a spiral ham (roughly 8 lbs) in or to make a double batch of chili or stew. It’s the perfect size when cooking for a crowd. It held roughly enough chili and stew for 20 people. I love that you can program the timer in 30 minute increments.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed; retain odors

I chose this model because a friend received 2nd and 3rd degree burns carrying her crock pot.
I do like the count down timer. You can only add time in 30 minute increments, but that’s ok. I cooked a pork roast on high for eight hours and it turned out great. After being disappointed in the slow cook function of my Instant Pot, I decided to replace the old Crock Pot (that I broke.). Definitely, the Crock Pot is way better for slow cooking.
However, after I let my new crock pot cool down and then washed it several times, rubbed with baking soda, and let it air out overnight, it still smells like my baking spices. I think the nonstick coating is retaining cooking odors.
Also, the lid has a gasket, which you can’t remove for cleaning or replacement (unlike my instant pot). It also smells like the cooking spices.
I mainly use my crock pot for savory dishes like chili, baked beans, pasta in red sauce, carnitas, stew, etc. I am afraid that this crock pot is going to smell like cumin forever.
Also, it’s much lighter than my old one- the lid is really light. The crock is a lot lighter than my old one. Old one was shiny enamel inside and out. This one is nonstick inside and matte black ceramic outside. The base is lighter weight. Others complained that food is boiling at low power and maybe it’s because the crock is lighter?
It also stayed moist under the lid handle.I washed it yesterday and this morning it was still moist under the lid. I have attached a photo. There is a little silicone valve in the plastic, but there’s no way to clean here.
Definitely if you use your crock pot for both sweet and savory, do not buy this one!
Maybe it’s better to get the travel bag instead of the locking lid? I also don’t think the nonstick coating is necessary.
I wish I had bought a different model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review, lhille. We understand your disappointment and we apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you. In order to get rid of the cooking odors, you may need to deep clean your stoneware. To do this, fill the stoneware with a vinegar and water solution and allow it to sit for at least an hour. This should take care of any lingering odors. For further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us at 1-800-323-9519. We're here for you Monday to Friday from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm EST.

Not Great

We received this as a gift to replace our smaller 6qt crock pot that was used for 12+ years. This one seems great, but overall is mediocre at best. The low setting does cook really hot and the high setting easily leaves charred food after just a few hours. The coated put also seems to keep smells from all of the spices no matter how we clean it. We are diligent to cook only with rubber utensils and clean with non-abrasive sponges or norwex clothes and yet the surface already has scratches after just a few months. Now, the unit will not even turn on, completely dead after 1 year. Overall disappointing from Crockpot brand that we loved for many years with other models.

Works amazing. However the locking lid latch is broken. The the tiny piece that holds the latch on broke off and now falls out constantly and I’m unable to locate a replacement lid.

I bought two of these now, I returned first one, the second one is doing same thing. Every 5 minutes or so, it clicks for about 30 seconds, see the video. This cannot be right, there are many reviews, a couple of them mention clicking, but what are the odds I have two defective products, anyone else getting this same thing? Crock-Pot is making this product like this?? See the video

This is the third Crock-pot brand I have had. The previous one didn't seem to heat correctly and now this one that just arrived and I am using for the first time makes this annoying loud clicking sound every five minutes which according to reviews elsewhere, reps have said this common and the crock pot will still work. That sound makes me think it works now but for how long?? Has crock-pot quality gone down that bad? Is time to find a new brand?

I like this crockpot, but I was looking for something with a delayed cook time programmer. So, if I need to leave to work at 7am but I don’t want my meal to start cooking until 9am/10am for 6-8 hours, which this does not do. Im still unsure of how the “MyTime” feature works? For example, what food selection do I use for sauce and meatballs? Is that meat or soup? Please help
