I must admit that I have been pleasantly surprised at the ease I have experienced transitioning from my old computer to this one. I waited until the last minute to get a new computer because I was not looking forward to the change. One of the nice things I have noticed is that my hp printer works better with my hp Windows 11 computer. There have been some minor adjustments, like adding an app that will play my external DVD player. As usual, there were way too many choices. I made sure the computer had an HDMI port as I show videos from my external DVD player to a TV at home or at our church.
Basically, it's a good platform. I don't want the copilot and don't like the copilot key on the keyboard. I don't like that page up/down is buried in the numeric keypad, and would like another CTRL key. I find I'm constantly toggling the NUM LOCK key and that is annoying.
Two things: typing is very touchy as the cursor moves quickly up a line or three and before you know it, you are typing inside another sentence that you've already typed. And the other thing is the camera changing colors and foci on my zoom calls even though I've done everything possible on zoom video to enhance the camera. I am orange and then I'm green. I think I need to have this looked at under warranty.
This laptop is so much faster than my old HP Envy and has more memory, which is great. However, there is less storage than I anticipated, and I’m not sure why. Am I supposed to pay for cloud storage? My other issue is the keyboard and how close the keys are to one another. I am constantly hitting the Caps Lock button instead of the a/A key, which rarely happened with my Envy because there was more space between the keys.
I was really happy with this laptop, but the keys are too close together with not much seperation. I had a pavillion laptop for a decade with no typeing issues. I struggle with this Laptops keypad set up. For what I spent to get all the features, the keypad is "bush league".
This OmniBook X is the best laptop I have ever owned, most likely the best computer I have ever used. This is probably my tenth laptop, and my second HP model. I wanted something with a large screen, a fast processor*, a lot of storage*, several ports, the right software* for my needs and Bluetooth. I bought this model because of it's size and sale price. *I had a budget in mind and this was on sale at half price so I upgraded the unit with a faster processor, more storage and Microsoft Office For Home and Business. I have had this laptop for a few weeks so we are still getting used to each other, but so far I really like this laptop!
Haven't had this long enough to give it a through rating. However, the punctuation mark symbols on the keys are so small that it is hard to distinguish them particularly the comma and period.
My wife and I needed new laptops that could run win 11. After about a month of research I settled on this one. We bought 2 and customized them a little. We are 66 so wanted the largest screen we could get and these screens are large, 17in, and beautiful. I ordered them with 32 gig of ram since we would not be able to upgrade later, also win 11 Pro. They came with 3 USB ports although 1 more would have been nice. The case is silver and feels solid. We wish they offered different colors so we could have picked what we wanted. It is very fast although I haven't played any games on it. The screen is gloss so you may have trouble if you plan on using it outside but we do not. The only drawback I have is the keyboard. The keys are flush with the surface of the case and really prefer they stick up a bit like my old laptop. It's just to easy for me to make mistakes. Overall I am happy and impressed with the laptop and would buy it again without hesitation. I spent 20 years building and servicing computers in my own shop so I have some background to base my opinions on.
