Bought this unit when remodeling our kitchen. Looks great and sleek with low profile. Like the simple controls and multiple fan speed options. Also like the plug in installation for easy connect/disconnect
My dad had been adamant about not changing his 20 year old, dirty stove hood. When I shared him the link to the Hauslane UC-B018, he immediately changed his mind. We ordered it. It was easy to install. My dad is super low-tech and okay vision. It has been super easy for him to learn how to use and maintain it. It even inspired him to clean up the grease stains on his stove because he has new motivations- thanks to the Hauslane UC-B018- to keep it clean. Thanks!
My unit is installed as ductless. The fans are loud and you can’t distinguish between the speed. The exhaust fan blows forward and blows on my forehead and top of my head. I’m 5’4” if I was a few inches taller it would blow in my face. I’m looking for a way to divert the air flow to the right or upward so I’m not in the line of fire.
The range hood works great. Fit and finish is excellent. In addition, I contacted their customer support regarding an install question and they were awesome. Highly recommended.
The real rating is 3/5. The design is sleek, clean, and attractive. The range hood was installed today. The 1959 cabinet to which it is attached presented a bit of a challenge since blocking needed to be installed to give the screws something substantial to screw into. One disappointment, as mentioned by another reviewer, was the discrepancy between the product guide indicating that the hood is to be hardwired and finding that it actually has a plug. I also agree that the fan speeds do not appear to demonstrate an appreciable difference among them. Frankly, it would have been infinitely more helpful to have two speeds for the fan and to use the 3rd speed button for a higher intensity light. The LED strip only provides adequate light (better suited as a kitchen "night light") for cooking, especially if one wants to see the bottom of any pots on the rear burners. I am hoping I will be able to find a replacement strip that provides greater illumination. I have a hard time believing that anyone who actually cooks would have chosen this level of lighting as the only option.
Installed very easily. Either use jacks or have a helper. Pulls most of the smoke and steam up and through. Works much better than what I had before which was a range hood incorporated into the bottom of a microwave. Various speed control is confusing because all three sound exactly the same. Purchased the optional charcoal filter but do not understand why it obnoxious uses one when there are two vent screens.
