We selected the WGen9500TFc model to replace a B&S Storm Respnder 5500 which had been converted to tri-fuel.
This upgrade will cover all the necessary loads during multi day power outages we experience here in Houston.
May not be as convenient as a whole house unit but much more cost efficient.
This new unit will make the next storm easier to manage.
Three year warranty is a bonus for peace of mind.

Versatility of a Portable Generator

I purchases the WGen9500TFc Portable Generator & discovered its versility. It has 50 Amps / 12,000 Watts of power & it runs on gasoline, propane or natural gas. I also installed an inlet outside my house going directly to my main fuse box. It has the power to run almost everything desired, except perhaps the air conditioner, the washer/dryer & the dishwasher - things I can live without in a power outage. We have gas heat, water heater & cooking range, so those are no problem to run, & I can run several fans in lieu of the air conditioner. The versatility comes with the ability to take this unit camping, tailgating or to power a variety of tools - or anything else that needs power where no other source is available. This kind of versatility offers piece of mind.

I just purchased in November 2024, I have not used it yet as intended. I will hook it up to a 50amp wall plug installed by an electrician once it is done. It has some great features, I love the build quality and the option to use propane. This is my first generator with a battery start, I will enjoy that feature as I am not as young as I used to be. This should be plenty of power for my needs.
