After extensive research and consulting with the electrician that installed the transfer switch, I decided on the wGen7500. It has sufficient power for the whole house (except probably running the oven). The electric start is a very nice feature, and the warranty and life-time available technical support is also a plus. All and all, a very impressive machine for a very reasonable price.
I can't really say how good this generator is or how I would compare it to other similar generators. I can say that it looks well made. Assembly was easy and it started with ease. manually, electronically and remotely.
Unit not run yet. Two small problems assembling: Battery connection bolts because of design somewhat hard to thread the nut on due to location. Would have been nice if instructions said how much oil to add with original filling. All it said was "add till full" which required seveal checks to make that determination to avoid over filling. Took the full quart but it would have been nice if it said "dump in the full quart of oil." Perhaps more later after I run the unit. So far,so good.
This generator is quiet, with enough power to run my entire house. I purchased this for emergency use at my home. And I'm very confident. I have only used it to try it out. I will leave another review after our first storm.
It was very easy to put together the wheel assembly and fill with oil. Haven't had a chance to see it in action yet - and I'm okay if that takes a long time!
