Generator arrived today, simple to unpack, simple to set-up, filled gas tank, pressed remote control button and it immediately started. Connected to house inlet, loaded up with air conditioning, water heater or stove or clothes dryer, it did not slow down. Extremely pleased with this purchase, if you need a terrific generator this is the one you want!
Great asset to our home helped with the dark days of California specially I am running on a water well this generator made our life worry free specially here in California with wind and Fire seasons
It was exactly as described in marketing material. Assembly was very simple, it came with everything to make it fully functional, and the instructions were clear. It started up immediately and runs good under minimal load. I have not tested it for running the whole house yet but don’t expect any issues.
I got a call saying the power was out at my house four days after I bought this. Needless to say, it wasn't even out of the box yet!
Having a young baby, I rushed home and got to work on setting it up.
Went like this for a generator newbie:
Cut open box. Attach wheels - with a simple cotter pin (easy enough) - attached front legs (hand tightened because I was in a hurry to get back to work as well), rolled it outside, add oil, add gas, attempted to start (overlook the gas shut off valve) switched the valve to "ON", pressed the start button on the remote and she fired right up!
Plugged in my cord and we had heat!
Went back to work within the hour. (Would have been sooner but I had other tasks as the HVAC tech was there as well.
I bought this generator last week. I looked at many different generators on line and decided on Westinghouse. It had the most features and the best warranty. I am very pleased with the quality. It started and ran great and the documentation is excellent.
This is my first generator. I have lived in central florida for 2 years and decided I wanted one of these. I had my electrician set up an outlet to plug it in to the outside of my house and a generator latch to code on my electrical box and we simulated a power outage, got it set up and practiced using it for the first time today. I'm pleased with the features of this model and it started and ran well during testing. It is able to power the lines for my 110 breakers including the refrigerator. In event of an outage we plan to use it with 2 small portable ac units in the bedrooms. So far so good. I am marking it a four because it is new and passed initial testing and I'm comfortable using it. I would need to have an experience using it during a real outage to move up to a 5.
Set up the transfer switch ahead of time. WGen out of the box, install wheels, add oil, connect battery and fuel source, plug into generac outlet, then push start. Switch on main breakers whole house was up and running, 2300 sq ft.
Loved the remote start. We had that on the night stand and off cycled the unit about 10PM and back on when we got up at 5AM. Saved fuel, food in fridge perfect, wood burning stove for warm house, power for coffee in the am. Checked the fuel gauge and added as required before going to work. Was able to get about 14 hours between fill ups.
