Bought this generator to replace an older and smaller unit. After a lot of research, I chose this model for its features and the Westinghouse name. I need a generator that would handle a 240 volt load for my A/C. Unit arrived in perfect condition. The carton was a little beat up but not a scratch. Documentation was good. Clear start up instructions. This unit is pretty heavy, but rolls easily when the wheel kit is installed. Everything went together easily, except the wheel axle holes had an excess of the power coating inside that required some light filing with a rat tail file to clean out. No other issues with assembly. Two surprises: 1) The unit started right up from the key FOB ( even though I had forgotten to put the choke on)...nice... and 2) the unit is louder than I had hoped.... from about 15 feet, I was getting 82-84 dB on 2 different phone apps. When moved to opposite side of garage, the sound level dropped to about 70-72. When I tested to generator, at first I didn't have any electrical output. I referenced the troubleshooting section of the manual and it said to reset the GFCI outlet. ( just like the ones in your home) Bingo!, that did the trick. Overall I am happy with the purchase. It seems to be a good value for the money. As with most generators, they sit unused for 5 years, then when you need it, you love it.
Moved into an area that consistently has major storms. The house already had a transfer switch installed so the WGEN was a no brainer. Top of the line generator able to support all of the home necessities. Now with a new baby in the house I am relaxed about any power issues.
