This is very much a fine product with two noted exceptions: 1) An acrid smell from the exhaust with running fresh gas. 2) Electric start never starts on the first attempt - has to repeat the starter cycle. If this Chinese made engine only had manual start, it would be a problem with a lot of people
I spent hours researching portable generators. When I read several reviews I realized I should take a closer look at the Westinghouse WGEN7500. I found two neighbors who had purchased this unit and were totally satisfied. That’s when I made my decision to purchase the WGEN7500.
I bought this in preparation for the hurricane season. We lost power for a day and a half during a storm over the summer and had to throw out everything in our fridge and freezer
I just received the Westinghouse WGen7500 and it was very well packaged and looks to be built with quality. Getting ready to start it for the first time.
I only purchased this item a few weeks ago and have not had any power loss to really test its limits. We did start the machine using both the electric and pull start and after a few initial cycles it started right up and ran for 1-2 hours with no issues. We attached a sump pump and 2 refrigerators to the unit and had no issues with the generator delivering adequate power. We have not attached it to the house circuit panel although it does have the transfer switch in case we decide to go that route. Overall it seems like a great product, received excellent reviews and although I hope I don't have to use for power outages too often I am confident it will get the job done.
